BJP’s Telangana Bypoll Candidate Explains Over 5 Crore Transfers

BJP’s K Rajagopal Reddy allegedly sent money to 23 people from a family-owned mining firm

The Election Commission of India has asked the BJP candidate in Telangana’s Munugode to clear transactions worth Rs 5.24 crore in multiple bank accounts ahead of the bypoll in this constituency.

BJP candidate K Rajagopal Reddy allegedly transferred a huge amount to the bank accounts of 23 people from a family-owned mining company in Munugode assembly constituency.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Soma Bharat Kumar had filed a complaint against Sri Reddy with the Election Commission, alleging that the money was used to woo voters.

“… Not done for inducement, as alleged, which is a corrupt practice,” the Election Commission said in the notice to the BJP candidate, seeking his response.

Sri Reddy has been given time till 4 pm tomorrow to respond. The by-election is on November 3.

Sri Reddy said that the lies of TRS are out in the open. “The people of Munugode cannot be fooled by your lies now. I have brought you on your knees in front of Munugode to vote. BJP will protect the people of Telangana from your family rule and end your atrocities. ,” Sri Reddy tweeted.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, or KCR, whose party has leveled allegations against the BJP candidate in Munugode, has also accused the BJP of trying to buy out his MLAs.

KCR, at a rally today, alleged that “Delhi touts” offered crores of rupees to buy some 20-30 MLAs.

Responding to the allegations, BJP leader and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said, “Today, you call him Delhi Dalal. I am asking, through brokerage you only encouraged all those MLAs who were earlier in your party.” have joined.”

“I am telling one thing. We have no intention to topple your government. You may have an idea to topple your government and gain sympathy so that it becomes an agenda in the election… Already you guys have lost respect among the people,” Mr Reddy said, news agency PTI reported.
