New Delhi

Delhi BJP has filed a case against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai and Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra for hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Delhi BJP vice-president Rajan Tiwari and spokesperson Harish Khurana on Thursday complained to DCP (New Delhi) Amrita Guguloth, alleging insult to religion, criminal conspiracy and insulting modesty of a woman among others. According to the complaint, the controversial portrayal of Goddess Kali by Ms Manimekalai in the poster of her documentary Black And the comments by Ms Moitra relating to the illustration were “highly objectionable”.

Apart from seeking criminal action against them, the complaint also sought deployment of cyber police personnel to identify and “expose” those allegedly behind the spread of the controversial image through social media.

DCP Guguloth confirmed that a complaint has been received but said neither FIR has been registered yet.
