Blue-collar jobs to grow 12% in 2023 compared to 2022, report finds

Reports suggest that more than 30 percent of blue-collar job seekers are women.

Avasar has released a report showing the trends of blue-collar jobs in 2023. The survey showed that blue-collar jobs will increase by 12 percent this year compared to 2022.

As per reports, the demand for Drivers, Repair Managers, Electricians, Warehouse Associates, Inspectors/Packers, Landscape Labor, Refuse Collectors, Floor Installers, Mechanics, Technicians and Electricians will be high. Moreover, the demand will mostly come from sectors such as logistics and mobility, e-commerce, facility management, information technology, retail and quick service restaurants, manufacturing, and banking and financial services.

The survey further states that Delhi (15 per cent), Bengaluru (14 per cent), Mumbai (13 per cent), Hyderabad (8 per cent) and Pune (7 per cent) are the major contributors to blue-collar jobs. In terms of gender, the blue-collar workforce has undergone many changes over the years. The number of women taking up blue-collar jobs is on the rise and reports suggest that more than 30 percent of blue-collar job seekers are women. Therefore, the current ratio of males to females for blue-collar jobs is 42:58.
