Booster Dose Rollout Today: From Pricing to Registration & Other Key Details

From today, the administration of precautionary doses of COVID-19 vaccines will begin to all beneficiaries above the age of 18 years. The Union Health Ministry on Friday announced that precautionary doses for all people above 18 years of age will be available at private immunization centers from April 10. People above the age of 18, who have completed nine months of the administration of the second dose, are eligible for the precautionary dose, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

From registration to pricing: 10 points

Precautionary doses of COVID vaccines will be provided to the population group above 18 at private immunization centres. This facility will be available at all private immunization centers.

Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) on Saturday announced that it has revised the price of its COVID vaccine Covishield for private hospitals. from 600 225 per dose.

India started giving preventive doses to frontline workers, healthcare workers and people above 60 years of age on January 10 this year. Later, on March 16, the vaccination campaign for the precautionary dose was extended to all adults over the age of 60.

All vaccines must be compulsorily recorded on CoWIN and both “online appointment” and “walk-in” registration and vaccination options will be available at private COVID vaccination centers (CVCs).

The private CVCs will maintain the vaccination sites as per the guidelines issued earlier by the Union Health Ministry.
