LONDON: The United Kingdom is making plans under which people will not be legally obliged to self-isolate after being caught COVID-19, The Telegraph reported on Sunday.
Prime Minister boris johnson The report says the UK seeks to permanently repeal emergency coronavirus laws as COVID-19 cases continue to decline, adding official guidance will continue, but will not result in fines or legal punishment if ignored.
The report said plans would be worked out in the coming weeks, with an announcement expected in early spring.
Last week, Health Secretary Sajid Javido Said that Covid-19 self-isolation in England would be cut from seven to five days if someone tests negative twice.
According to an earlier Telegraph report, Johnson is also set to lift the Plan B COVID-19 restrictions introduced last month to slow the spread of the Omicron variant.
