Bosch will invest an additional 250 million euros in chip production capacity

The largest portion of that budget was allocated to expand its 1-billion-euro Dresden factory producing 300-millimeter wafers, which the group inaugurated in June.

Bosch is investing an additional 250 million euros ($282.50 million) in expanding chip production facilities at its Reutlingen plant in Germany, the company said on Tuesday. The Reutlingen site was previously earmarked for €50 million out of a total of €400 million that the supplier had set aside last year to spend on chip production in 2022 at Reutlingen, Dresden and a test facility in Penang, Malaysia.

The largest portion of that budget was allocated to expand its 1-billion-euro Dresden factory producing 300-millimeter wafers, which the group inaugurated in June. Bosch said in a statement that Reutlingen’s additional capacity would be implemented in 2025.
