New Delhi [India]Nov 21 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday chaired her first pre-Budget consultation with the first group of captains of industries and experts in the field of infrastructure and climate change in the national capital.
Along with Sitharaman, the meeting was attended by Union Ministers of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary and Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad; Finance Secretary TV Somanathan, Secretaries of other departments of the Ministry of Finance and Chief Economic Advisor Ananth Nageswaran.
The formal exercise of preparing the annual budget for the next financial year 2023-24 began on 10 October.
The budget for 2023-24 is likely to be presented on February 1.
Notably, this will be the last full budget of the Modi 2.0 government before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May of 2024.
