India has made remarkable progress in many respects Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) And per capita income has increased to ₹1.97 lakh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on 1 February.

he also said Indian economy has grown From 10th largest to 5th largest in the world in the last nine years.

Ms. Sitharaman said that the efforts of the government since 2014 have ensured a better quality of life for the citizens of the country.

According to the Center for Science and the Environment’State of India Environment Report 2022‘, the country’s overall SDG score was 66 out of 100.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with its 17 SDGs and other components, was adopted by all UN member states in 2015, providing a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and planet.

The 17 SDGs are an urgent call to action by all countries in the global partnership.

Some of these goals are- no poverty, no hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, Strengthening the Global Partnership for the Goal of Sustainable Cities and Communities, among others.
