Energy transition to a greener future has been given a major focus in the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Gaurav Moda, Energy Leader, EY India, said, “Taking cues from PM Modi’s net-zero ambition, the Finance Minister has shown genuine intent to drive India’s energy transformation. Accelerated grassroots initiatives, especially on EVs and solar, along with the upcoming hydrogen mission, could push India to a turning point much faster than expected. He also said that there is a need for a renewed focus on fossil fuels as they continue to be a mainstay during our journey to net-zero.
