According to bulk deals data on NSE, HDFC on Tuesday bought 1,48,80,000 shares of HDFC Life Insurance at an average price of ₹667.10 per piece, valuing the deal at ₹993 crore. Sellers were not immediately known.
After getting approval from the Competition Commission of India to raise HDFC’s stake in HDFC Life Insurance, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India also granted its nod to transfer HDFC’s holding in insurance unit to HDFC Bank.
This comes at a time NBFC giant HDFC on Tuesday clarified on media reports about the tentative dates for the completion of its merger with HDFC Bank. The merger between the two will take effective from July 1 and the merged entity will have to hold at least 50 percent.
Sapphire Foods India Ltd also saw large deals according to data. Foreign company WWD Ruby has exited Sapphire Foods, which operates KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants across India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
WWD Ruby Ltd sold its entire stake, 4.77 per cent which is 30,30,215 shares at an average price of ₹1,377.10 taking the transaction value to ₹417.29 crore.
The Nomura Trust And Banking Co Ltd As The Trustee Of Nomura India Stock Mother Fund bought 4,38,705 shares at an average price of ₹1,377.10, Societe Generale – Odi bought 4,73,000 shares at ₹1,377.10 and Goldman Sachs (Singapore) Pte-Odi- bought 3,42,000 shares at ₹1,377.10.
According to data on NSE, Coffee Day Enterprise Ltd also saw buying and selling.
HRTI Private Ltd sold 12,15,967 shares at an average price of ₹40.80, while it bought 9,88,860 shares at an average price of ₹40.70.
While, in Eros International Media Ltd saw buying and selling. Citadel Securities India Markets Private Limited sold 5,04,086 shares at an average price of ₹20.51. It bought 4,34,129 shares at an average price of ₹20.47.
