Burger King emails customers a blank order receipt; internet confused

Fast food chain Burger King remains in the news for one reason or the other. Be it with its vegetarian food choices or eclectic tweets during the months of lockdown, the brand has never failed to grab headlines. Following tradition, Burger King made it to the news again; But this time, the reason was quite strange (or bizarre)! According to a report in The Verge website, the fast-food chain recently emailed blank order receipts to 1,000 customers. Reportedly, the mail started appearing in customers’ mailboxes on August 9, 2022 at around 12.15 pm (Eastern Time). The mail was sent from Burger King’s main promotional marketing email address and had absolutely nothing written on it.

In no time, customers were confused by black food receipts and wondered if Burger King’s email had been hacked by a “hungry hacker attempting a midnight feast”. Customers soon took to Twitter to express their concern about the situation.

“Did anyone else get a random blank #burgerking receipt this morning?” Wrote one.

Another tweet read, “I got 3 all different emails I didn’t even know had them.” A third tweet read, “Did something weird happen? Check Twitter. Fastest way to get a reply. For example, I got a blank receipt from #burgerking and I was like “Did I order from Burger King too? “Sure, so did everyone else lol.”

Reports further stated that many who received the email did not even remember to create a Burger King account, register their email ID. Burger King has yet to comment on the matter.
