It was heartbreaking for defending champion PV Sindhu as the Indian ace lost in straight games to world No 1 Tai Tzu Ying in the women’s singles quarterfinals at the BWF World Championships on Friday. Sindhu was looking to defend the title she won in 2019, the 2020 edition of the tournament not taking place due to COVID-19. However, the Indian lost 17-21, 13-21 to his Chinese Taipei rival in just 42 minutes in the last eight clash.
