A clever couple thought of a very simple way to avoid competing by blindfolding their neighbors Christmas Perform with minimum effort.

Aurin Kucheran’s Christmas performance at Warman, Saskatchewan City, Canada, leaves the neighbors breathless every year. But for 2021, next-door neighbor Chris Boechler and partner Mandy Scripps come closer to craning their friend, saying ‘ditto’, a simple sign with a yellow arrow pointing next door.

The couple said: ‘We knew we couldn’t be with them, but we wanted to join in on the fun,’ to explain their view.

‘I guess I’m lucky to have such a neighbor. There are a lot of people who don’t get into the Christmas spirit and it’s good to be the one who does,’ said Chris (left)

‘It’s a winter wonderland. He works very hard at it and brightens the mood of everyone around the block,’ said Chris CBC news.

Chris and Mandy were initially concerned that Orin didn’t find their clever decorations odd at all.

But Orin found the decorations really hilarious, and was grateful for her neighbors’ sense of humor.

‘Thanks to our wonderful neighbors, we made national headlines!’ Aurin wrote on Facebook.

‘He loved it, which was cool,’ Chris said. ‘Everybody likes it and it makes for a good laugh, and that’s why we did it.’

The plywood base of the Ditto sign is painted black with 600 yellow lights. The holes are pre-drilled and the lights are completely glued.

The fact that the sign is the only decoration of the house adds to its comic effect.

Chris said, ‘When we decided to make this sign we put everything else in the basement and let it shine on its own.

Chris and Mandy describe Orin as Warman’s local Clark Griswold, a Christmas-obsessed character from National Lampoon’s Vacation portrayed by Chevy Chase in the 1989 film.

Chris said aurine begins to decorate early during the fall and ‘gets better and better every year.’

Orrin told CBC he’s been running his performance for a while, but felt inspired to put on even more decorations after the pandemic hit.

‘Everyone needs a reason to smile, especially at Christmas. That’s why I do it, and why would I keep doing it,’ he told the outlet.

“This fall they built a 4×8 projector screen on which they project movies with a sidebar,” Mandy said.

Orin has started playing some Christmas classics like Home Alone and Elf.
