Capt Amarinder Singh to launch new party before Punjab elections

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will soon launch a new political party ahead of the 2022 assembly elections.

Raveen Thukral tweeted, “The fight for the future of Punjab continues. Will soon announce the launch of my political party to serve the interests of Punjab and its people, including our farmers, who have been working for more than a year.” are fighting for their existence.” Amarinder Singh’s media advisor.

Amarinder Singh said that if the farmers’ protest is resolved in the interest of the farmers, he is hopeful of a seat agreement with the BJP in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.

Captain Singh further said that we are looking at forging an alliance with like-minded parties like the separated Akali groups, especially the Dhindsa and Brahmapura factions.

I will not rest until I secure the future of my people and my state. Punjab needs political stability and protection from internal and external threats, Singh said, adding that he promised the people that he would do what is at stake today to ensure their peace and security.

After stepping down as chief minister, Amarinder met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, prompting speculation that he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, with the latest move, the rumors have been put to rest for the time being.

He had then said that the Home Minister’s discussion centered around the long-standing farmers’ agitation against agricultural laws, urging them to repeal the laws and urgently resolve the crisis with a guarantee of MSP.

Amarinder resigned from the chief minister’s post after a prolonged tussle with cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu. Amarinder Singh had said that he was feeling humiliated by the way the party high command in Delhi handled party affairs in Punjab. He was upset with the leadership for calling a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), which is the chief minister’s prerogative.
