This time at the carandbike awards we had Electric Vehicles (EVs) that were making a lot of “noise” and our jury members were excited to see the increasing number of green vehicles. This year, the 2022 CNB EV of the Year award went to the much-deserved Audi RS e-Tron GT. The Tata Tigor EV came close, but the Audi RS e-tron GT grabbed everyone’s attention with its ballistic performance and razor-sharp looks. Other EVs nominated for the category include Audi e-tron 50/55, e-tron Sportback, RS e-tron GT, Jaguar I-Pace, Porsche Taycan and Tata Tigor EV.
Audi RS e-tron GT The Reverend is Audi’s spiritual successor to the R8, and it certainly looks the part. The car shares its base with other Volkswagen Group EVs such as the Porsche Taycan. The Car Is Surprisingly Happiest On The Road, And It Achieved It Too Sports Car of the Year title at the 2022 carandbike awards.

Now the e-tron GT is available in two avatars and both use the same 93.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack – also shared with the Porsche Taycan. But unlike the standard GT, which churns out 522 bhp and 630 Nm of torque, on the RS you get 637 bhp along with 830 Nm of torque. The car has dual synchronous motors – one each on the front and rear axles. And the result is quattro all-wheel-drive capability, too. The RS accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and its top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
