Carpenter’s daughter tops 12th exam in Tamil Nadu, wants to become an auditor

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin felicitated Nandini and announced that the state government would provide all help and support for her higher studies.

The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu (TNDGE) declared the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Class 12 results on May 8. This year, around 8,03,385 candidates appeared in the Tamil Nadu Class 12 exam out of which 7.5 lakh were students. Have passed the exam. The overall pass percentage is 94.03 percent. The pass percentage of girls stood at 96.38 while boys registered a success rate of 91.45 per cent. S Nandini, a student from Dindigul, topped the Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 exams.

Carpenter’s daughter Nandini scored 100% marks in all subjects. She studied in a government-aided school in her district. According to officials, Nandini scored 100 per cent marks in subjects like Tamil, Economics, English, Accountancy, Commerce and Computer Application and scored 600 marks overall. As per reports, Nandini’s father always supported her to pursue her education.

“The result of class XII has been declared. I got 600/600 marks. This makes me very happy. My grandmother and teachers supported me. My father is a daily wage laborer but he never tried to stop me from studying. He told me that my education is my wealth and he encouraged me,” Nandini said in an interview with ANI.

The excited girl while talking to a local TV news channel said that she wants to become an auditor. A day after the state results were declared, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin felicitated Nandini. He further announced that the state government would provide all possible help and support for his higher studies. Nandini along with her parents met the Chief Minister at his camp office in Chennai on 9 May.

Sharing a video from the meeting, CM Stalining wrote, “The heights that people from humble backgrounds like Nandini have reached through their hard work is the hallmark of our Tamil Nadu!”

Kanyakumari recorded the highest pass percentage this year at 97.05 per cent. Those who obtain minimum 35 percent marks out of 100 in each subject are declared passed. Students who have failed in their Tamil Nadu Class 12 exams will be allowed to appear for supplementary exams.
