Case against school teachers of Rajasthan for beating up Dalit students in different cases

Bagri police station in-charge Bhanwarlal said that on the complaint of the family members of the student, a case has been registered under section 151 of CrPC and he has been taken into custody.

A government school teacher was detained and suspended for allegedly thrashing a 14-year-old Dalit student in Rajasthan’s Pali district. The police gave this information on Friday. In a similar incident in Dausa district of Rajasthan, a class V Dalit student was beaten up by a school teacher. Police have registered a case against both the teachers.

Bagri police station in-charge Bhanwarlal said that a case has been registered against Bhanwar Singh, a teacher of Government Higher Secondary School in Pali district, for alleged assault on a Dalit student on Thursday night. He said that on the complaint of the family members of the student, a case under section 151 of CrPC has been registered and he has been taken into custody.

The Education Department has suspended the accused teacher. In Dausa, a case has been registered against Rameshwar Gurjar, a government school teacher, for beating up a Class V Dalit student. Manpur Circle Officer Santram told that the incident is of August 6. The student is being questioned and investigated.

Earlier this month, a nine-year-old Dalit boy was thrashed by a school teacher in Rajasthan’s Jalore district for allegedly touching a water pot meant for upper castes. The boy later died during treatment at the hospital.
