Hyderabad Police registers case against actor for allegedly making derogatory remarks against badminton champion Saina Nehwal

The Cyber ​​Crime Police of Hyderabad City Police on Wednesday registered a case against actor Siddharth for allegedly making derogatory remarks against badminton champion Saina Nehwal.

The actor was booked for two offences, based on a complaint by Prerna Thiruvapathy. For publishing obscene material in electronic form as per Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, and for words intended to outrage the modesty of a woman as per Section 509 of the IPC.

Ms. Prerna, Vice President of Hindu Janshakti from Cuddapah also publicly shared a copy of the First Information Report described on her Twitter page.

Mr. Siddharth had tagged Ms. Nehwal’s tweet on January 6 that expressed concern about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach in Punjab. He commented: “The world’s astral rooster champion.”

On Tuesday night, back on Twitter with an apology letter to Ms Nehwal, she said it was a “vulgar joke”.
