Bollywood casting director Aarti Mittal was arrested by Unit 11 of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch on April 17. Aarti has been accused of running a sex racket inside the film industry. According to reports, Aarti used to supply models to customers by luring them with money. Two models fell into the trap after Aarti promised them Rs 15,000 each. Upon learning about the incident, two members of the crime branch unit disguised as undercover customers arrived at a hotel in Mumbai’s Goregaon, from where the models were later segregated. Currently, he is in a rehabilitation center.
According to Zoom Entertainment, Arti, a resident of Oshiwara, tricked models she met while working on specific projects into prostitution. After talking to him, Aarti lured him with a hefty amount, which usually models would not refuse.
The information about the sex racket first reached Police Inspector Manoj Sutar. To trick the trickster, Manoj approaches Aarti posing as a customer. He urged him to send two girls for his two friends. The police inspector claimed that the 27-year-old casting director demanded Rs 60,000 to forward pictures of girls on Manoj’s cellphone before sending them.
As per a report in Mid-Day, Aarti informed Manoj that she would send the two models to a hotel in Juhu or Goregaon. Accordingly, Manoj chose Goregaon and booked two rooms for his two dummy customers from the crime branch who arrived at the location. As soon as Aarti reached the campus with both the women, she handed over the contraceptives to the detective inspectors. All this was recorded as evidence.
During the raid at the hotel, Aarti was caught red-handed by the police personnel. In a statement to the police, the models revealed that the casting director would pay them Rs 15,000 each if they accepted Aarti’s request to join prostitution. Reports have claimed that the police is currently probing the matter to get further details.
Aarti Mittal was both a casting director and an actress. He has worked in the television serial Appanpan – Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan. Earlier, in a social media post, she revealed that she was busy shooting for a film together Bollywood Actor R Madhavan.
