Also, a hard copy of the same proposal was received from Punjab Police at the International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), CBI, New Delhi on May 30, 2022. After processing for confirmation of pre-requisite requirements, the Red Corner Notice proposal was forwarded. expeditiously at Interpol (HQ), Lyon on June 2, 2022,” reads the statement issued by the CBI on Thursday.
The central probe agency had issued the statement in response to media reports based on claims made by the Punjab Police on Wednesday.
The CBI said that as per the proposal of Punjab Police, the request for issuance of RCN pertains to two cases of 2020 and 2021, in which FIR No. 409 dated November 12, 2020 and another FIR No. 44 dated February 18, 2021, and both the FIRs of Police are of. Station Faridkot City. “Even in IPCU CBI this request was received on 30th May, 2022 whereas as per information in public domain, Sidhu Moose Wala was murdered on 29th May, 2022,” the CBI said.
CBI said RCN’s application against Harvinder Singh Rinda had already been sent to INTERPOL (HQ), Lyon.
