CBI files bribery case against former High Court judge SN Shukla

New Delhi:

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against former Allahabad High Court judge SN Shukla and his wife. On behalf of the investigating agency, it has been said that Shukla and his wife have allegedly acquired assets worth Rs 2.45 crore from some known source. This is the second case of corruption against the former judge. SN Shukla retired from the Allahabad High Court in July 2020.

It is alleged that the probe agency has filed documents dated December 4, 2019 with Justice SN Shukla of the Allahabad High Court against IM Quddusi, a retired judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court and four others for obtaining orders by taking money in favor of a Lucknow-based medical college. A case of alleged corruption was registered.

Alleged that the in-house investigation of the Supreme Court had also revealed the corruption done by SN Shukla. Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra had outlined impeachment proceedings against him in 2018. But he was not impeached during the tenure of Mishra Mishra’s successor, Ranjan Gogoi.
