CCB Police arrested a Chennai man for defrauding a real estate buyer of ₹1.19 crore

The Entrepreneurship Document Fraud (EDF) wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a real estate buyer for cheating him to the tune of over ₹1 crore. The CCB had arrested Madipakkam resident T. Jikkaram Choudhary on October 9.

A senior CCB police officer said the 47-year-old had copied documents of 7,200 sq ft of land in a housing layout in Injambakkam and transferred it to CIT Nagar’s K.K. There was a plan to sell Suresh for 9 crores. He also received an advance of ₹1.19 crore in April this year. Even after receiving the amount the accused failed to proceed with the registration of the plots or to refund the advance amount.

Based on the complaint lodged by Mr. Suresh, the CCB registered a case and after investigation it was confirmed that Mr. Jikkaram had cheated him. The accused hiding in Madipakkam has been arrested by the CCB police.

He was later produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to jail.
