“On December 10, we received a preliminary information from the bank that these account holders had died in an accident. He said eight personnel, including General Rawat, were covered under the SBI GPA policy for account holders.

Tripathi said UII is in the process of settling personal accident insurance claims for two more defense personnel holding GPA policies with Punjab National Bank.

The sum insured given to army officers is 30 lakhs and this is for Air Force officers 40 lakh, Tripathi said.
