CEA Krishnamurthy Subramaniam to return to academics

Chief Economic Adviser Krishnamurthy Subramaniam has decided to return to academia after completing his three-year term in early December.

“It is an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to serve our country! Being provided with the opportunity to contribute in an era of tremendous uncertainty and change has been the lucky piece on the cake. Therefore, being mindful of the immense privilege bestowed upon me, I will happily return to serve the country as a researcher after fulfilling my three-year commitment,” he said in a statement on Friday.

An IIT Kanpur and IIM Calcutta alumnus, Mr Subramaniam was a professor at the Indian School of Business before his appointment as the CEA in December 2018. The post of CEA was vacant for a few months after his predecessor Arvind Subramaniam left. personal reasons’.
