Celebrate Cyber ​​Awareness Day every month: UGC to colleges

To raise awareness about cyber crimes and how to deal with them, University Grants Commission (UGC) A circular ‘Cyber ​​Awareness Day’ has been issued. The UGC has directed Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to observe ‘Cyber ​​Jagriti Diwas’ on the first Wednesday of every month. As of now, this program will be conducted online for one hour from 11 am in view of COVID-19.

UGC has urged the HEI to organize workshops, seminars, interactive sessions, creative sessions like poster making and slogans etc. to make people aware of cyber crime and to control such crime.

“The Ministry of Home Affairs is implementing a scheme ‘Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (14C)’ to deal with cyber crimes. In a statement, the UGC said that the ministry has also developed a National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal to help people easily register complaints of cybercrime.

“There is a dire need to enhance cyber hygiene for prevention of cyber crimes by inculcating basic caregiving habits of information and communication,” the official statement said. Although cyber security is a part of the curriculum of information and communication technology in primary and middle classes, in digital it becomes necessary to impart skills to the students to deal with such unforeseen situations.
