Bollywood actors keep their garage flashy and full of beefy badges. B-Town was recently joined by a Mercedes-Benz GLE luxury SUV, which has found a home in the garage of celebrity couple Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar. The couple has bought the SUV in black colour, and its starting on-road price is Rs 1.04 crore and is priced at Rs 1.24 crore. Talking about the ex-showroom prices, the base-spec trim costs Rs 88 lakh, ex-showroom. However, the ex-showroom price of other trims is more than Rs 1 crore. The SUV is also sold in coupe avatar as well.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE sits in between the GLS and GLC SUVs in the company’s global line-up. The GLE is on sale with three engine options. First on the list is a 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces a peak output of 245 HP against 500 Nm. Next is a 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 330 HP of peak power output and 700 Nm of peak torque.
The petrol power plant is a 360 HP unit, producing 500 Nm of peak torque. The GLE comes with a top speed of 250 kmph. All these engine options come mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Also, an AWD 4MATIC system is available for the SUV.
The GLE comes with 4 paint options namely Non-Metallic Polar White, Metallic Cavansite Blue, Metallic Mojave Silver and Metallic Obsidian Black. The GLE gets the MBUX system, which has two 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment unit and the other for the instrument cluster. The SUV also gets 360-degree parking camera, tire pressure monitoring system, blindspot detection, automatic climate control and more.
In terms of dimensions, the Mercedes-Benz GLE sold in the long-wheelbase format measures 4,924 mm in length, 2,022 mm in width and 1,772 mm in height. In addition, it has a wheelbase of 2,995 mm.
