Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar shares winter menu to stock up on good health

The winter season is in full swing, especially across North India. States like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab are recording the same drop in temperature. The phrase #coldwave is also trending on Twitter in India today. In this cold weather, it is easy to reach for hot drinks and deep fried snacks to keep yourself warm. However, these calorie-rich dishes are not the only item on your menu this winter. Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar took to Instagram to share a winter-special menu for her followers.

Calling it a ‘suggested guide’ for the winter season, Rujuta Diwekar explains that it was a way to incorporate seasonal winter delicacies from your region into your menu. Here are winter meals suggested by celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar:

  1. For breakfast Diwekar suggests alternatives like poha and vermicelli upma. There were also roti options like gobi paratha, roti with sesame chutney. Gujarati delicacies like idda and ratla khees also made a place in Rujuta’s winters menu,
  2. for lunch – Nutritionists suggested simple and practical options for daily winter meals. Vegetable and roti or dal and rice were the major categories of lunch options. for sunday, Rujuta Recommended winter favorites like makki ki roti and sarson ka saag.
  3. for dinner Rujuta Diwekar had advised to keep dinner light. Khichdi, soup and dal were among the various food options suggested as part of the winter menu.

Apart from this, Rujuta Diwekar also advocated the importance of staying hydrated and indulging in healthy drinks like amla juice and lassi. For mid-meal hunger pangs, Rujuta Diwekar Suggested winter fruits like guava, plum and chikoo. Sweets and sweets like pinni, laddoos, panjiri, and other winter specialties were suggested to be included in the weekend lunch menu.
