In another meeting on July 29, 2022, Delhi’s Home Department was asked to organize “immediate relocation” of Rohingya families to “any suitable location”.

“Secretary, NDMC was directed to immediately hand over the required number of 240 EWS flats at Bakkarwala to FRRO after completing water supply and other basic essential arrangements,” adding that this was to be done within a week .

According to the minutes, the EWS flats were to be taken up by August 2022 for the purpose of building a “detention centre”.
