CEO Tim Cook opens India’s second Apple retail store in Saket, Delhi

New Delhi: After “Apple BKC” in Mumbai, “Apple Saket” opened its doors in New Delhi on Thursday.

Apple Inc Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook inaugurated the tech giant’s second retail store in the country at a mall in Saket in the morning. He was given a standing ovation by team members and consumers alike.

Apple said the store has more than 70 highly-skilled members who come from 18 states and collectively speak more than 15 languages.

The store also has a dedicated Apple Pickup station that makes it easy for customers to order online and collect their devices in-store at a convenient time.

For hands-on technical and hardware support, Apple said customers can make reservations at the Genius Bar in Apple Saket for expert assistance. “The Genius Bar appointment can help with everything from setting up a device, recovering an Apple ID, selecting an AppleCare plan or modifying a subscription,” the company said in a statement.

There was a lot of excitement since morning as people stood in long queues to witness the inauguration of the second store.

Tim Cook on Tuesday opened India’s first Apple Store at Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Taking to Twitter, Cook shared a picture from the grand launch and captioned it, “The energy, creativity and passion in Mumbai is incredible! We are very excited to open our first store at Apple BKC – India.

Cook also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Wednesday and said Apple “shared his vision of the positive impact technology will have on India’s future,” adding, “…from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment.” Till then, we remain committed to the growth and development of investments across the country.”
