The incident is of Sanand, where Taruna (21) and Vishal Parmar (22) shifted after marriage a few months back. Taruna’s family was dead against this union and her brother Hardik Chavda felt very bad. Resident of Kointia village in Detroz taluka of Ahmedabad District, Chavda A few days ago he threatened the couple the killing, On September 26, 2018, Chavda attacked the couple at their house in Sanand. Taruna, who was pregnant at the time, received eight stab wounds. After killing his sister, Chavda banished his brother-in-law to a neighbor’s house and in front of the neighbor Rambhaben Rathod and his two children, he stabbed Parmar 17 times with a knife.
During the trial, Assistant Public Prosecutor AM Gulabani examined 17 witnesses and produced 63 documents as evidence to establish Chavda’s guilt. The court sentenced Chavda to death for murder under section 302 of the IPC and 10 years of imprisonment “for the speedy death of unborn child” under section 316 of the IPC.
The court has recommended the District Legal Services Authority, Ahmedabad (Rural) to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the parents of Parmar, who had lost their son, daughter-in-law and three family members in their unborn child, according to the court. .
The court imposed a fine of Rs 61,000 on Chavda and ordered compensation of Rs 50,000 to the witness Rathod, who is believed to be a victim of the crime as a murder took place in his house in front of him and his children.
