Chennai Couple Arrested For Killing Coimbatore Call Taxi Driver | Coimbatore News – Times of India

Coimbatore: Rural police arrested a man from Chennai on Friday couple to kill a call taxi driver near Coimbatore on Tuesday. Police said the couple, who were facing the killing In some cases in Chennai, some narcotics were injected into the body of the driver and he was killed.
The arrested couple have been identified as 40-year-old S Stephen of KK Nagar in Chennai and his second wife Amalorapavam. Stephen, a postgraduate, was working as a network engineer in a private firm. Later, he was engaged in a real estate business. He was separated from his first wife and two children.
Amalorpavam was working as a maid at Stephen’s house. He fell in love with her and married her. Police said Stephen was involved in four murder cases in Chennai, and Amalorpavam was involved in two murder cases with him. He was arrested by the Chennai city police, and got conditional bail in 2016. Later, the couple went missing and the police were not able to trace the couple. A Chennai court issued a non-bailable warrant against the couple.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the couple had taken a house on rent at Kalikkanaickenpalayam near Vadavalli a few months back. They were not able to pay the monthly rent amount of Rs 7,000 to the landlord. They came to know that the call taxi drivers of the company used to keep the amount in the dashboard of the cars and hand over the amount to the office once a week. So, they decided to rob money from a cab driver.
On Tuesday night, the couple booked a call taxi. S Sanu, 31, from Mahalingapuram near Vellore, picked up the couple from a recreational club. The couple injected some medicines into his body with a gadget and killed him. They took Rs 6,100 from the dashboard of the cab and two mobile phones from the vehicle.
They drove the car some distance and left it with the dead body in it. When Sanu’s family members started searching for him, they found the car with the dead body in it. Thondamuthur police have registered a case and arrested the couple.
