CHENNAI: After a cluster was formed at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, a new cluster was created in the hostel Stanley Medical College Hospital After 27 of its students tested positive for coronavirus infection on Wednesday.
14 cases were reported from the male student hostel of the college, while 13 cases were reported from the female hostel.
The dean of the hospital, Dr P Balaji, told TOI that the students had returned from a tour of Coorg a few days back. He was asked to undergo RT-PCR test before entering the hospital. He later tested positive. He said that all the students have been kept in isolation.
