Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) passed a resolution on Wednesday Rahul Gandhi National President of the party. The resolution was passed unanimously at Maheshwari Bhawan here on the first day of the two-day ‘Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir’ of the Congress, a party statement said. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, AICC state in-charge PL Punia, party’s state unit president Mohan Markam, AICC state in-charge secretary Chandan Yadav, state ministers, MPs and MLAs attended the event.

It said that the proposal to elect Rahul Gandhi as the President of the Indian National Congress was proposed by the party’s state general secretary (in-charge) Amarjit Chawla, which was supported by all present there. Rahul Gandhi served as Congress President between 2017-19. Along with this, discussions were also held to implement the decisions taken during the Congress Party’s Chintan Shivir held recently in Udaipur of the state and an action plan was prepared in this regard. Visuals from the addresses delivered by Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi at the Udaipur convention were also shown on the occasion.

On Thursday, six issues will be discussed by constituting various committees and their findings will also be presented. It said that the expansion of the organization, district level foot march, appointment to vacant posts and protest plan against the central government on various issues will also be discussed.
