A devotee from Chhattisgarh died after falling unconscious in the Puri Jagannath temple complex in Puri on Sunday.
The 72-year-old deceased, identified as YG Murthy, along with his family members had come to the Puri Shrimandir to have a darshan of the siblings.
According to reports, the idol fell on the way to Bimala temple and was later declared brought dead by doctors at Puri hospital.
“We had come to the temple around 10 am. We don’t know much as he was in good health. But he fell inside the temple premises,” said a family member of the deceased.
Murthy was immediately rushed to Puri hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
