China Says It Copied Taiwan’s “Sealing Off”, Jets Had “Live Ammunition”

China said its fighter jets carrying “live ammunition” carried out “mock strikes” near Taiwan.

Beijing:

A military statement said China was conducting a mock “sealing off” of Taiwan in a maritime exercise on Monday.

A separate report by state broadcaster CCTV said dozens of planes had practiced an “aerial blockade” of the self-ruled island.

Earlier, China said its fighter jets carrying “live ammunition” carried out “mock strikes” near Taiwan and its Shandong aircraft carrier was involved in ongoing exercises.

“Several squadrons of H-6K fighters carrying live ammunition carried out several waves of simulated attacks on important targets on the island of Taiwan,” the Chinese military’s Eastern Theater Command said in a statement. ,
