Church statue vandalized in Tamil Nadu: Police

Coimbatore:

Tension prevailed in the city’s Ramanathapuram area on Monday morning after devotees found an idol allegedly vandalized in a church.

After being alerted, the management of Holy Trinity Cathedral found that the statue of St. Sebastian kept in the glass cabin was damaged and immediately informed the police, who reached the spot.

As people started gathering at the spot, tension prevailed for some time before the police dispersed them.

Further investigation is on, the police said.
