CII to organize 20th edition of ‘Connect 2021’ on 26th and 27th November

Chennai The 20th edition of CONNECT 2021, the flagship event of Confederation of Indian Industry with an aim to take the state’s GDP to US$ 1 trillion by 2030, will be held in Chennai from November 26 to 27.

CII Tamil Nadu President S Chandrakumar said Chief Minister MK Stalin would inaugurate the event on November 26 and the theme would be “Building a Sustainable Deep Technology”.

“Connect as a phenomenon in the last two decades has taken various path breaking initiatives like formation of technology corridors, new developments in Information and Communication Technology, Aero Parks and Special Technology Parks,” he told reporters.

Niraj Mittal, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, said, “This is a very important event for Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister (MK Stalin) has set for us to reach the state’s GDP of USD 1 trillion by 2030. IT will be a major part of ITeS economic growth”.

“Connect 2021 is not just a one day event where you chit-chat and go. It is a movement and there is a need to bring information technology to generate employment in all districts of the state and generate economic activity across the state. is”, he said. said.

Through a video message, Stalin said, “I wish that this conference will bring new investments in information technology to Tamil Nadu and make Tamil Nadu a leading state in information technology in India.”

Urging all stakeholders to focus on promoting information technology in all districts, the CM said that he has set a target that Tamil Nadu should reach USD 1 trillion in economic output by 2030. “The outcome of this conference should help achieve the goal”, he said.

Connect 2021 will see participation from various industrial sectors, IT, manufacturing, automobile, textile, food processing, healthcare, finance, banking among others. Over 5,000 officials from various industries are expected to participate in the event through virtual mode. Australia and the United Kingdom are the partner countries of the event.
