CISCE to incorporate new age technologies in curriculum, IIT Delhi to curate curriculum

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has collaborated with Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) To prepare curriculum in upcoming technologies including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science for the schools affiliated to the Board. Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO, IHFC said that the foundation can be instrumental in implementing this in over 2,700 schools affiliated to CISCE and guide them to implement it.

IIT Delhi’s i-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), and Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) will assist the central board in designing the curriculum. It aims to strengthen 21st century skills in students and implement certain aspects of the New National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. IHFC will also improve the existing STEM courses in line with the policy.

“We are delighted to join hands with CISCE to develop curriculum for Robotics and AI for school children in India. Teamwork to bridge the gap between young engineering students and potential future robotic enthusiasts, Nurturing innovation and knowledge are the pillars of our vision,” said SK Saha, Project Director, IHFC and Professor at IIT Delhi.

“CISCE has always endeavored to provide its students with a wide variety of subject options, meeting their interests and abilities, while also addressing contemporary needs, and it is in keeping with the objective that CISCE offers is planning to introduce – Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at ICSE (Class 9 & 10) and ISC (Class 11 & 12) levels,” said Gerry Arathoon, CE&S, CISCE. “I am glad that the curriculum for these two subjects is being created and developed by IHFC, TIH of IIT Delhi. Their expertise and guidance is highly appreciated by CISCE,” he said.
