Back in 2021, the French automaker Citroen Launched its first SUV C5 Aircross in India and now Citroen is all set to launch its much awaited C3 compact crossover in the Indian market very soon. Citroen C3 Will be produced locally in India with 90% localization, thus helping the company achieve aggressive pricing.
The car itself looks promising and packs in funky styling, a good set of features and rivals many other sub-4 meter compact SUVs in the Indian market. Here is a list of the top 5 things to know about the upcoming Citroen C3.
Citroen C3: Exterior

Talking about the exterior design of the Citroen C3, it looks quite funky and follows the company’s family design language. It gets a sleek grille and split headlights up front and there’s plenty of body cladding around the body, which adds a dash of ruggedness to the design making it look like an SUV. And at the rear, things are more minimalistic with a simple set of square tail lamps and the C3 is based on the brand’s CMP modular platform.
Citroen C3: Interior

Moving to the interior, the layout design again follows the company’s family design language. It gets a floating 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The car also gets an in-built mobile holder which is placed near the air-con vents which is unique. The steering wheel is flat-bottomed and there are mounted controls for the infotainment system. It also has a digital instrumental cluster that displays the speed and other basic information about the vehicle.
Citroen has skipped some features like power-powered ORVMs, adjustable headrest, etc.
Citroen C3: Dimensions
The Citroen C3 is essentially a sub-4m compact SUV. As mentioned earlier, the C3 is based on the Common Modular Platform (CMP) with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm.

The company says that the passengers in the rear seats will also have ‘one of the best legroom in the segment’. The rear seats have 653 mm of legroom. Up front, there’s 1418mm for the elbows and 991mm for the headroom. The car has a boot capacity of 315 liters.
Citroen C3: Engine and Gearbox
The Citroen C3 is likely to be offered with two petrol engine options. 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. The turbocharged engine produces 108/128 Bhp, while the naturally aspirated engine produces around 85 Bhp of power. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Citroen C3: Expected Pricing and Rivals
Since the Citroen C3 will be produced locally in India with 90% localization, we expect it to be competitively priced between Rs 5.5 lakh-8 lakh. When launched, the C3 will take on the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite.
