City police busted online job fraud, arrested six people

The City Police has arrested six people for online job fraud.

The arrested people have been identified as Suman Shah, Subham Singh, Deepak Sargra, Ranveer Chauhan, Mithu Jat and Vikas Basita, all residents of Bihar and Rajasthan. Police said three others – Pradeep Chowdhary, Rajneesh Gurjar and Majid – are yet to be arrested.

Thirty mobile phones, 20 SIM cards, 26 ATM cards, 37 bank cheques, 56 fake stamps and banners of eight fake companies were seized from the accused.

In conversation with reporters on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Ch. Shrikant said, “A total of 78 frauds were reported during the year in which the complainants lost ₹2.45 crore. I appeal people not to fall prey to such online part time job offers. Fraudsters are out to make quick bucks.” take advantage of innocent people.

Talking about the online job fraud case, Srikanth said that on October 13, a woman lodged a complaint with the cybercrime police that she was duped by cyber criminals by promising lucrative online part-time jobs.

The commissioner said the fraudsters obtained his bank account details and managed to freeze his account, which had deposits of over Rs 12 lakh.
