Civil Services Day 2022: Meet UPSC CSE toppers of last 5 years and know what they are up to now

A gateway to the Indian bureaucracy, the Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) It is one of the toughest exams in the country. Lakhs of aspirants work hard day and night hoping to clear the exam. Joining the civil service is more than just securing a job.

Many UPSC CSE aspirants leave their well-deserved jobs to fulfill their dream of joining the bureaucratic system and becoming a part of the policy making of the country. If you are also a UPSC CSE aspirant, here is a list of previous years toppers that you can take inspiration from.

2020

Shubham Kumar, a resident of Katihar district of Bihar has topped upsc cse exam 2020, An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay, Shubham had earlier cleared the UPSC CSE exam in 2019 with a rank of 290 but decided to give one more attempt. Shubham was allotted the home cadre of Bihar in the Indian Administrative Service.

2019

Haryana’s Pradeep Singh had secured the first rank in the UPSC CSE 2019 exam. A resident of Sonipat district, Pradeep was already undergoing probation at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) when the results were declared. He cleared the UPSC CSE exam in his fourth attempt and is currently serving in the Indian Administrative Service in his home cadre Haryana.

2018

Kanishk Kataria secured first rank in UPSC CSE 2018 in his very first attempt. Coming from a family of civil servants, Kanishk was earlier working as a software engineer at Samsung but left his well-deserved job to take up UPSC CSE. He is currently posted as SDO in Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

2017

Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad topped the Civil Services Examination 2017. He secured first rank in UPSC CSE in his fourth attempt and was already serving as an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. Anudeep opted for IAS and is currently posted as District Collector, Bhadradri Kothagudem in Telangana.

2016

Nandini KR from Karnataka secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination in 2016. Nandini, who hails from Kolkar district, passed the exam in her fourth attempt and was already serving as an Indian Revenue Service officer. He opted for IAS and was awarded Home Cadre. Nandini is currently working as the Chief Executive Officer of Ballari Zilla Parishad.
