Clarify on the status of NEET exemption bill, Ramdas urges the government

PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Monday urged the DMK government to clarify on the status of the NEET exemption bill, stating that no progress has been made since the bill was passed in the Assembly.

He said in a statement that on December 21, 100 days would be completed since the bill was passed in the Assembly on September 13.

Mr Ramdas said the lack of clarity will not help the students, especially when the next admission process is about to begin soon.

He told that there is a time limit for getting the bill approved and the governor has not given his assent.

“There can be no reason other than politics behind the delay,” alleged Mr. Ramdas and urged the government to act immediately.

He also pointed out that the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues had met the Governor several times and requested him to send it for the assent of the President, but to no avail.

Mr Ramdas said the DMK government could not escape its responsibility citing delay on the part of the Governor and made an election promise of getting NEET exemption knowing that similar bills passed under the AIADMK regime did not get assent.
