Class 10 student dies after falling from roof of school in Ayodhya, family alleges rape and murder

Lucknow: A 15-year-old class 10 student allegedly died after falling from the terrace of a prominent private school in Ayodhya on Friday.

The girl’s family has alleged that despite the campus being closed for summer vacations, the headmaster called her to school and she was raped by two staff members. , Sports teacher Abhishek Kanaujia and school manager Brijesh Yadav.

The police booked the two as well as the principal of the school under sections 376D (gang rape), 302 (murder), 201 (causing evidence) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and sections 3 and 3 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Case has been registered. Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, 2012 (relating to sexual assault and its punishment).

According to the FIR filed by the girl’s father, which ThePrint accessed, principal Rashmi Bhatia had called the student to school “despite the school being closed due to the ongoing summer vacation” as part of the conspiracy.

“There, accused Brijesh Yadav and Abhishek Kanojia, who were already present, raped my daughter and pushed her off the roof of the school to hide the crime. Due to this my daughter got seriously injured and later she died during treatment,” alleged her father, as per the FIR.

Speaking to media persons, Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Madhuvan Kumar Singh said that the Class 10 student fell from the terrace around 9.30 am on Friday.

“The school management took him to a hospital where he was admitted and his family was informed. The student died during treatment. Appropriate action will be taken on the basis of evidence from electronic surveillance and CCTV footage.

In the CCTV footage of the school going viral on social media, the girl is seen falling from the roof of the school and moaning in pain. The video is with ThePrint.

Speaking to reporters, the girl’s father alleged that the school staff had “tampered with evidence by removing bloodstains from the spot where she was found lying”.

He further claimed that his daughter had injury marks all over her body and her mobile phone, which she was carrying, was missing.

When asked about the family’s allegation of rape and the removal of bloodstains from the spot by the school authorities, Circle Officer (City) Shailendra Singh said that the vaginal swabs of the deceased had been sent for forensic analysis and an investigation was underway. Is. “Even if the bloodstains have been removed, the police have been able to recover any traces of blood,” he said.

Police sources told ThePrint that Kanojia was detained but the police have not acknowledged any detention or arrest on record.

‘Misled us’: Girl’s grandfather

The girl’s grandfather told reporters in Ayodhya that she had gone to school at around 8.41 am.

“At 9.51 am, her father got a call from the school that his daughter had injured herself after falling from the swing. We thought it would be a normal injury. They first took him to Narayan Hospital and then to Chiranjeev Hospital and finally to Raj Rajeshwari Hospital,” he said.

“Both the principal and Abhishek Kanojia claimed that she had fallen off the swing. They kept on misleading us till the end.

Dada further said that CCTV footage from the school premises was recovered by the police on Friday evening, and it showed that the girl was “pushed from the terrace”.

“In the video footage, which is now in the possession of the police, he can be seen falling from the terrace. We want justice. Abhishek Kanojia is the main accused and he has killed my granddaughter. Brijesh Yadav and Rashmi Bhatia are also accused. These people (school staff) can do any mischief because it is a big school.

Circle officer Singh told ThePrint that the girl suffered multiple injuries, especially her right leg, which was twisted, and was left unattended even after falling for nine minutes.

“He received injuries on his head and leg. The right leg, the side from which she had fallen, was twisted. For about nine minutes she lay on the ground as no one was in the school. A worker saw him fall on the ground and took him to the principal’s room,” he said.

“The post-mortem has been done and it has been confirmed that the girl died due to injuries sustained in the fall,” he said.
