on Monday, Mamta Banerjee expressed doubt Regarding the cause of death of the minor girl. While the family has alleged gang rape, the West Bengal chief minister questioned whether the girl was pregnant or had a love affair.
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari slammed the West Bengal CM for his remark and said, “Mamata Banerjee should clean her mouth with bleaching powder and phenyl.”
Referring to Mamata Banerjee’s order asking the police to investigate whether the victim was pregnant or having an affair, Suvendu Adhikari said, “Didn’t expect such horrific and petty remarks from the chief minister’s mouth. May go. This is absolutely beyond condemnation.”
What is the matter?
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped on April 5 when she attended the birthday party of local TMC leader Samar Gola’s son Braj Gopal Gola (21). He died on Sunday.
The victim’s family alleged that the body was cremated without post-mortem under pressure from a local panchayat leader of Trinamool Congress, whose son is the main accused in the case. The Bharatiya Janata Party has called for a 12-hour bandh in Ranaghat on Monday to demand justice for the deceased.

What did Mamata Banerjee say?
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has questioned the report of a minor girl who was allegedly raped in Nadia district on April 5.
“This story they are showing that a minor has died due to rape, would you call it rape? Was she pregnant or was she having an affair? Has he inquired? I have asked the police. They have made arrests. I was told that the girl was having an affair with the boy,” the CM said.
Five days after the incident (April 10), a complaint was lodged with the police.
The CM said, ‘The girl died on the 5th and the police came to know on the 10th. If he died on 5th April and if there is a complaint, why didn’t they go to the police on the day of the incident? He cremated the dead body! From where will the police get the evidence?
Mamata Banerjee further said, “It was a love affair and it was confirmed as the family knew about it. If a couple is in a relationship, can I stop them? This is not UP, we don’t do love jihad here. This is his personal liberty. But if there is any disturbance, the police will arrest the culprits. A suspect has already been arrested.”
