Rain continued in Bengaluru on May 20 as well, raising the possibility of further damage and disruption of normal life. During peak hours there is a traffic jam in the city.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the next two days. IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru for May 19. Some districts of Karnataka have declared holiday for schools after IMD issued red alert, educational institutions are open in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai along with MLAs and MPs of the ruling BJP visits the rain-hit areas in Bengaluru. Later, he is expected to review rain damage, relief work and preventive measures to avoid further damage.
