Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday handed over a check of ₹3 lakh to a young athlete Lokesh Kumar after learning about his financial difficulties.
The government said Mr Kejriwal learned about 15-year-old Lokesh’s plight on social media and offered him help within three days.
“Two days back, I came to know about Lokesh’s story. Today I met Lokesh and handed over a check of Rs 3 lakh to him. Delhi government will not allow paucity of money to come in the way of development of talent. Best wishes to Lokesh ji for bright future. Keep working hard and make the country proud!” tweeted CM
Lokesh, a Class X student of a Delhi government school, has been assisted under the Play and Progress scheme as he has been consistently performing and making the state proud, the government said.
