Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) [India]October 4 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur reviewed the preparations and arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program in Bilaspur on Tuesday.

“Tomorrow will be a very historic day for all Himachalis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Himachal on the occasion of Vijayadashami. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various projects including AIIMS. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will address a huge rally in Bilaspur and will also participate in Kullu Dussehra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Himachal Pradesh on October 5 where he will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur as well as lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 3,650 crore.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), AIIMS Bilaspur, built at a cost of over Rs 1470 crore, is a state-of-the-art hospital with 18 specialty and 17 super specialty departments, 18 modular operation theaters and 750 beds. 64 ICU beds.

Spread over 247 acres, the hospital is equipped with 24-hour emergency and dialysis facilities, modern diagnostic machines like Ultrasonography, CT Scan, MRI etc., Amrit Pharmacy and Jan Aushadhi Kendra and 30 bedded AYUSH Block.

The hospital has also set up a Digital Health Center to provide health services in the tribal and inaccessible tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Also, specialist health services will be provided by the hospital through health camps in the inaccessible tribal and high Himalayan regions like Kaza, Saluni and Keylong. The hospital will recruit 100 students for MBBS courses and 60 students for Nursing courses every year.

“Through the inauguration of AIIMS Bilaspur, the vision and commitment of the Prime Minister to strengthen health services across the country is being again displayed. The hospital, whose foundation stone was also laid by the Prime Minister in October 2017, is being set up under the central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana,” the PMO said in a statement.

He will also lay the foundation stone of about 31 km long project on National Highway-105 from Pinjore to Nalagarh at a cost of over Rs.1690 crore.

The project road is a major connectivity link for traffic from Ambala, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Solan/Shimla towards Bilaspur, Mandi and Manali.

“About 18 km of this four-lane national highway falls under Himachal Pradesh and the remaining part falls in Haryana,” it said. This highway will ensure better transport facility to Nalagarh-Baddi industrial hub of Himachal Pradesh and will also give impetus to industrial development in the region.

According to the PMO, the highway will also boost tourism in the state.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Medical Device Park in Nalagarh to be built at a cost of about Rs 350 crore.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth over Rs 800 crore has already been signed for setting up an industry in this medical device park. This project will significantly increase the employment opportunities in the region.

Later PM Modi will inaugurate the Government Hydro Engineering College in Bandla.

“At a cost of about Rs 140 crore, the college will help in making available trained manpower for hydroelectric projects, of which Himachal Pradesh is one of the leading states. This will help in enhancing the skills of the youth and provide ample employment opportunities in the hydro power sector.”

He will also attend Kullu Dussehra celebrations.

International Kullu Dussehra Festival will be celebrated from 5th to 11th October at Dhalpur Maidan in Kullu.

This festival is unique in that it is a gathering of more than 300 deities of the valley. On the first day of the festival, the deities in their decorated palanquins perform their puja at the temple of the main deity Lord Raghunathji and then proceed for the Dhalpur ground.

In the historic Kullu Dussehra celebrations, the Prime Minister will witness this divine Rath Yatra and a grand assembly of the deities.

This will be the first time that the Prime Minister of the country is participating in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations. (ANI)
