Coal India temporarily halts supply to non-power customers: Report

NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (Reuters) – Coal India Ltd, the world’s largest miner, has temporarily cut off supply to non-power users, a company official said, as India suffers its worst power supply deficit in years. Struggling with one.

“It is a temporary priority of supply to power plants till the stock stabilization is restored,” said a source familiar with Coal India’s plan.

There was no immediate official comment available from the company.
