IPS officers given specific dates to appear at ED’s New Delhi office

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned eight senior West Bengal police officers to New Delhi for questioning in the coal smuggling case. The officials gave this information on August 11.

He said that the IPS officers who have been summoned by the central agency include Gyanwant Singh (ADG, CID), Koteshwar Rao, S. Selvamurugan, Shyam Singh, Rajeev Mishra, Sukesh Kumar Jain and Tathagata Basu.

He said the IPS officers have been given specific dates to appear at the ED’s office in New Delhi.

“These IPS officers played an important role in the coal smuggling case. There is evidence that these officials benefited from the scam. All of them were posted in the areas where smuggling took place.

Of these eight officers, seven were summoned by the ED last year as well.
