Meteorological department sources said that in 2020 the temperature did not drop below 10 degrees Celsius in the last winter season, but now the temperature has gone down to below 10 degrees, which is likely to bring severe cold to the lives of people in the North Karnataka region. . Coming days.
NM Ravish, officer-in-charge of India Meteorological Department, North Karnataka Agricultural Forecasting and Research Centre, UAS, Dharwad, said severe cold wave conditions would continue over North Karnataka region for the next three or four days.
Dharwad and Bidar are the most affected. Dharwad recorded a low of 9.4 degrees Celsius two days ago and Bidar at 9.4 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest in the state on Tuesday. In most of the districts of North Karnataka, the temperature ranges from 12 to 14 degree Celsius.
Kalaburagi, Raichur, Koppal, Vijayapura and Bagalkot, which are known for high temperatures, have also recorded a drop in temperature and are facing severe cold.
Vishal Parekh, owner of New Woolen House, Hubli, said sales of woolen garments including jackets, sweaters and hand gloves increased by 40% this year as compared to last year.
